When closely witnessing the growth, development, and preparation of children for life over the years, it becomes much clearer how time has changed. In the past, childhood was lived by running in the streets, falling, getting up, dreaming, and often inventing one's own games. Today, however, the way children grow has taken a significantly different direction. Technology has settled at the center of life; tablets, phones, and screens have become an inseparable part of children's daily lives.

This change has also brought some deficiencies. Especially the ability to dream, the habit of problem-solving, and manual skills have fewer opportunities for development compared to the past. In the past, a child could turn a simple piece of wood into a toy or create their own game world with stones. This process was not just a game but also an experience that taught patience, creativity, and thinking.

Nowadays, ready-made toys and digital games offer children quick satisfaction. However, this situation leaves the process of creating something from scratch and the skills gained during that process in the background. Children often want to see results quickly; impatience can develop towards processes like waiting, trying, failing, and trying again. However, true learning takes shape precisely within these processes.

Professions have also been affected by this change. In the past, professions like carpentry, tailoring, farming, or repair taught both creativity and patience. Today, fields like software, design, and engineering are coming to the forefront. These fields are certainly among the important professions of the future. However, to succeed in these professions, a strong imagination, problem-solving ability, and productive mindset are required. Simply spending time in front of a screen is not enough to acquire these skills on its own.

Another noticeable change is seen in social skills. Previously, children learned to share, wait in line, make decisions together, and empathize by playing games with their peers. Today, individual games and digital interactions are more common. This situation can limit children's face-to-face communication skills. In the long term, this deficiency can manifest itself in both professional life and social relationships.

Despite all these changes, hope is always present. A conscious approach is sufficient to support children's development. Quality time spent with them is the most important part of this process. Engaging in crafts, reading stories together, trying simple experiments, and playing games that stimulate imagination greatly contribute to children's development. These types of activities nurture patience, creativity, and curiosity.

The important thing is not to completely eliminate technology from life but to use it in a balanced way. When the digital world is used correctly, it can be educational and developmental. However, having children grow up solely with screens can leave some aspects of their development lacking. Therefore, establishing balance, providing guidance, and offering alternative productive activities is of great importance.

Children should be supported in using their hands, enjoying the joy of creating, and building their own worlds. The happiness that comes from achieving something boosts self-confidence and fosters a positive attitude towards learning. Regardless of which profession they choose; individuals who can think creatively, be patient, and are curious will always be one step ahead.

Today's children are growing up in a fast-paced world. However, with the right guidance, they can progress on solid foundations. Values such as dreaming, creating, and sharing do not lose their importance over time. Preserving these values is the fundamental key to raising strong and balanced individuals of the future.
